Von Willebrand Factor, commonly abbreviated as VWF or vWF, is a large multimeric glycoprotein associated with primary hemostasis, platelet adhesion, platelet-subendothelial interactions, coagulation factor VIII stabilization, vascular biology, and hematology pharmaceutical applications.
Von Willebrand Factor is not conventionally described using a single small-molecule molecular formula because it is a complex glycosylated protein with a multimeric structure. The mature VWF monomer has a molecular weight of approximately 250–280 kDa, while biologically relevant VWF forms exist as dimers and multimers with substantially higher molecular weights.
